"The Offense-Defense All American Bowl is the culmination of years of hard work developing a winning curriculum and reputation for excellence, as well as experience in working with young players," said Offense-Defense Vice President Matt Whittier. "Unlike other games that can be seen as marketing tools, we are working to make this game a pure, annual tradition that athletes from all across the country can strive to be a part of." Whittier went on to elaborate “…the reputation of Offense-Defense Sports translated to immediate support of the game from throughout the sports and media fields, making it an easy choice for a global entity like Fox to sign on and participate in this fantastic event."
The first three years of the O-D All-American Bowl has already seen offensive showcases and defensive stalemates, each game ultimately tipping in the East’s favor as they’ve cobbled together a 3-0 series lead over Team West. Not coincidentally, Team East players garnered All-American Bowl MVP honors each year the game has been in existence thus far. In 2007, Cameron Newton walked away with the hardware and in 2008 that honor went to Mike Zordich. 2009 saw defensive powerhouse Kwame Geathers attain the highly coveted three-letter designation. Time will tell if the East and its stars will be able to maintain control of the series or if the West will finally be able to strike back in 2010! |
